Overview

Inside The Book

I often reflect on my actions, acknowledging that now of making a decision, I believe it was the right choice. However, if it turns out to be a mistake, I do not shy away from admitting it. Instead, I focus on the next crucial step, figuring out how to rectify the situation. This sense of accountability and continuous learning keeps me motivated and grounded.

Standing by your word is a crucial step in establishing your credibility. It is an attribute that others observe and appreciate instantly. Manifesting sincerity in your words and actions and carrying out what you've pledged to perform will inevitably garner the trust and esteem of those around you.

Some days might seem to bear lesser significance, but there will always be opportunities to make up for it on other days. The key here is awareness of your end goal and the reasons behind your efforts. This understanding gives purpose to your journey and lends strength to your resolve. Knowing where you are headed and why you are on this path truly matters in the grand scheme.

The strength in decision-making extends beyond the significant life-changing decisions and encompasses our minor, everyday choices. We can opt for kindness, lend a helping hand to others, strive for excellence, acquire new knowledge, and prioritize our physical and mental well-being. These minute decisions might appear trivial, yet they substantially influence our lives.

In The Essence Of Presence, You Will Learn

The motivation that propelled me to where I am today is my childhood illness. That's the fuel behind everything I do. I believe that I can achieve anything if I give it my all. Overcoming sickness was my first victory. Despite my illness, I was a bright kid academically, and this intelligence always kept me moving forward. The notion of beating the odds when everyone else assumed I'd lose was a driving force for me.

Whether it's a positive or negative outcome, the ability to stand tall and admit to your deeds is what I've learned. This habit has now become second nature, propelling me forward in my day-to-day life. It has instilled a deep-rooted conviction in me to stand up for my beliefs and to own up to my actions, regardless of whether they're perceived as good or bad.

The path to my dream of becoming a nurse was not easy. Despite my desire to become a nurse, my family's financial constraints created a seemingly insurmountable obstacle. The cost of nursing school was beyond our means, not to mention the additional expenses required to consider applying to such institutions.

I must admit that acquiring knowledge outside the conventional schooling framework was enlightening. Take, for instance, my internship, which did not correlate with my field of study. You may find it amusing, but I was tasked with selling cigarettes. Indeed, this was the unusual circumstance I found myself in.

Following through signifies the act of fulfilling the promises or plans you've made in the most effective way and within a predetermined timeline. High enthusiasm often accompanies our initial commitment stage, filled with the excitement to bring it to fruition. Yet, when challenges arise, many of us find our fervor dwindling.

Moreover, you must show up for your aspirations each day consistently. As I often tell my children, I maintain my job due to my punctuality and consistency in performing my duties. I wouldn't hold onto my job if I were not committed to these principles. Therefore, if you aspire to a high grade or aim for admission into a prestigious college, you must give your all. Attending every class and putting forth your best effort in each session is a must, understanding that not every day will carry the same weight.

When we embrace the responsibility of our choices, we unlock a universe of opportunities. We can chase our dreams, dare to take risks and craft the existence we wish to lead. Sure, we might encounter hurdles on this journey, but we always have the option to persist, learn from our setbacks, and continue progressing. The decision is ours to make, and it's incumbent upon us to maximize its potential. So, let's decide thoughtfully, seize control of our lives, and manifest the future we envision.

When my children first arrived in America, I enrolled them in public schools. However, I quickly noticed a stark contrast in the educational standards compared to what I had anticipated. As their primary homework helper, it didn't take long for me to realize that their academic growth needed more than what was offered. The realization triggered an extensive research phase on my part, seeking ways to ensure they received the best possible education and considering the shift to a Catholic school setting.

Is it only a trick of my mind, or has our society's frequency of basic politeness lessened? What's the reason behind the diminished respect and consideration we show one another? Could we be so engrossed in the day-to-day rush that we overlook the need to extend kindness to our fellow human beings? Or it might be due to our environment - the media suggesting that apathy is trendier than being kind and polite.
